Debora Hirsch's Firmamento and The Iconography of Silence at Galleria Dix9

exhibition · 2026-05-04

Debora Hirsch (b. 1967, São Paulo, Brazil; lives in Milan) presents her latest project Firmamento, a lucid analysis of the limits of representation that also looks at the virtual dimension created by digital networks. The paintings in the series balance seemingly distant worlds in a spatiotemporal transposition aimed at unveiling hidden realities, such as affinities between historical colonialism and digital colonialism. The metaphysical approach generates ever-different realities, with aesthetic harmony intersecting nature in a Magritte-like finale where flowing water evokes Heraclitus's Panta Rhei. Additionally, Hirsch will premiere The Iconography of Silence in Paris, addressing violence against women. The exhibition Somewhere Under a Vast Solid Dome runs at Galleria Dix9, Paris, from May 17 to June 15, 2019.
