Deauville Sport Images Festival Returns for 2026 with Focus on Women in Sports

festival-fair · 2026-05-11

The Deauville Sport Images Festival, born from the legacy of the Paris 2024 Olympics and leading up to Milano Cortina 2026, returns for its second edition from June to September 2026. The festival transforms Deauville into an open-air museum with 13 free exhibitions featuring nearly 300 photographs by over 100 international photographers. The 2026 theme is women in sports, highlighting female athletes, photographers, and influencers. American photographer David Burnett is the guest of honor with a solo exhibition titled "Paysages olympiques." The opening night, "La Nuit du Sport," takes place on June 6 at the Centre International de Deauville, hosted by journalist Claire Bricogne. The festival also includes documentary film screenings in collaboration with the Deauville Sport Doc Festival. Exhibitions are organized around four themes: current sports photography, societal sports photography, historical sports photography, and artistic sports photography. The event aims to promote sports as a tool for social inclusion and cultural dialogue.
