De la Torre Brothers debut Baroque glass works in New York
Ruiz-Healy Art presents 'de la Torre Brothers: Psychopomp,' the siblings' second solo show with the gallery and their first in New York City, running from May 12 to August 14, 2026. The exhibition features elaborate mixed-media glass sculptures and lenticular prints that explore cultural transience through the concept of the psychopomp—a guide of souls. Their Baroque-inspired creatures address high versus low art, diasporic experiences, and social class stratification with humorous world-building. Brothers Einar (born 1963) and Jamex (born 1960) de la Torre, originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, moved to California in 1972 and have collaborated since the 1990s, developing a signature style combining mixed media and blown-glass sculpture.
