DC Moore Gallery Now Represents Jim Gaylord

DC Moore Gallery has announced representation of artist Jim Gaylord. His first solo exhibition with the gallery is scheduled for Spring 2027. Gaylord's work explores abstraction through formalism, geometry, ornament, and iconography, interweaving motifs from man-made and organic structures. He recontextualizes symbols from visual culture, creating compositions that are specific yet enigmatic. The artist describes his reliefs as combining details from the monumental and the sensorial, such as skyscraper fragments, body curvatures, egg roundness, geometric ornamentation, and ancient glyphs. His compositions evoke marble friezes and building facades, referencing architectural space.
