Davide Stucchi's '6, Corso Via' at Galleria Martina Simeti

Davide Stucchi (b. 1988, Vimercate) presents his solo exhibition '6, Corso Via' at Galleria Martina Simeti in Milan. The show opens with a WhatsApp voice message from the artist to critic Fabio Cherstich, who has followed Stucchi's work for 15 years. Stucchi explores light, form, and irony, re-semanticizing everyday objects like umbrellas, intercoms, coat racks, and curtains. The exhibition references his 2021 show 'Falli' (Phalluses), which recreated Walter Albini's 1977 exhibition at Galleria Eros in Milan, featuring clothed phallus sculptures. Curtains in the space evoke the former sex shop Planet Sex that occupied the gallery, reconstructed from online images. Cherstich describes a 'visual and conceptual clash' between the physical space and the world it alludes to. The exhibition runs at Galleria Martina Simeti in Milan.
