Davide Ferrario's hybrid film 'SEXXX' hits Italian cinemas

Davide Ferrario's film 'SEXXX', blending dance, documentary, fiction, and video art, will screen in Italian cinemas on July 4 and 5. Based on Matteo Levaggi's contemporary dance piece performed by the Balletto di Torino, the film goes beyond documentation to explore the nude body in painting, cinema, and pornography. It features an exceptional soundtrack including original ballet music by Bruno Raco and tracks by David Bowie, Ultravox, Giorgio Canali, The Longcut, Ooioo, and Massimo Zamboni, plus a fictional short film. Ferrario describes it as a visual survey of staging the nude body, from classical nudes by Tintoretto and Palma il Vecchio to porn sets visited during his earlier film 'Guardami'. He aimed to film dance cinematically, making the camera an additional choreographic element. The film premiered at the Torino Film Festival to positive reception.
