Davide Bramante to Open Santa Lucia Contemporary/Casa Bramante in Avola, Sicily

Artist and photographer Davide Bramante will inaugurate Santa Lucia Contemporary/Casa Bramante in Avola, in the province of Syracuse, Sicily, in December. The new space will serve as a studio, artist residency, and cultural meeting place, conceived as a sister to his existing San Sebastiano Contemporary/Casa Bramante in Palazzolo Acreide, also in the Syracuse area. The venue will be housed in a Liberty-style palazzetto that Bramante and his wife Laura Zerbini have acquired, and it will undergo a restyling before opening. Bramante announced the project on his Facebook page, explaining that he is not a gallerist but has always supported artists in various ways. He opened San Sebastiano Contemporary/Casa Bramante seven years ago in one of Italy's most beautiful villages, where exhibitions and dozens of residencies have taken place with artists from China, Finland, Mexico, Iran, Colombia, and elsewhere. The new space in Avola will be part of a project called Mare/Monti, which will feature artists and numerous workshops for young people and children. The opening is scheduled for December, though the exact date has not been specified.
