Davide Allieri's Immersive Installation at Kunstraum Dornbirn
Davide Allieri has transformed the historic industrial hall at Kunstraum Dornbirn into an engaging exhibition that explores themes of time and future uncertainty. Titled after its geographical coordinates, 47°24’35’’N/9°44’20’’E, the show features a striking circular light sculpture that acts as a gateway, alongside a four-meter-long drone-like structure and various cables that suggest inactive technical networks. The atmosphere is enriched by a low-frequency soundscape created by Francesco Peccolo. Allieri’s hollow fibreglass sculptures, while seemingly empty, convey a sense of potential. Inspired by Marc Augé’s concept of non-places, the installation blocks out natural light, creating an environment that feels like a scene from an apocalyptic sci-fi narrative. Born in 1982 in Bergamo, Italy, Allieri graduated from Milan's Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera and has exhibited at places like Kunstmuseum Den Haag and Triennale Milano. He received the viennacontemporary | Bildrecht SOLO Award in 2024.
