David Zwirner Showcases Gerhard Richter's Landscapes and Abstrakte Bilder

David Zwirner presents Gerhard Richter: Landschaften, an exhibition pairing the artist's photorealist landscape paintings from the 1960s to the 2000s with selected Abstrakte Bilder (Abstract Paintings, 1976–2017). Curated by David Zwirner and David Leiber in collaboration with Richter, the show is at 537 West 20th Street, New York. Loans come from private and museum collections, including works from Richter's 2025–2026 retrospective at Fondation Louis Vuitton, Paris, and his personal collection. Richter began exploring landscapes in the late 1960s, using travel snapshots to create atmospheric compositions that reference art history.
