David Zwirner's Platform and Not Cancelled Virtual Art Week Expand During Lockdown

digital · 2026-04-27

During the coronavirus lockdown, David Zwirner has extended his online viewing room platform, Platform, to support young galleries globally. Launched in 2017 on Zwirner's gallery website, the platform allows collectors to view and purchase artworks. After editions in New York, London, and Los Angeles, Platform Brussels and Paris runs from May 22 to June 19. On May 23, Zwirner's Paris gallery reopens with a Philip-Lorca diCorcia exhibition. Similarly, Massimo De Carlo offers his Virtual Space for an "Art Virtual Summer" involving five Milanese spaces. Meanwhile, the virtual art week Not Cancelled, organized by Treat Agency (founded by Istvan Szilagyi in 2012 with offices in Vienna, Berlin, and Los Angeles), has expanded eastward. Its first edition featured 14 Vienna galleries and attracted 2,500 visitors online. The current edition, Not Cancelled East x South, runs until May 19 and includes galleries from Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, and Georgia, organized by Sariev gallery in Plovdiv and LambdaLambdaLambda in Pristina. The event offers digital studio visits, gallery tours, and talks.
