David Zwirner launches podcast series 'Dialogues' with Jeff Koons and Met curator

David Zwirner, the German art dealer and gallerist, has launched a new digital project: a podcast series titled 'Dialogues: The David Zwirner Podcast.' The first episode, released on June 27, 2018, features artist Jeff Koons in conversation with Luke Syson, curator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The biweekly podcast, hosted by Lucas Zwirner, editorial director of David Zwirner Books, pairs artists with cultural figures from visual arts, architecture, film, or music to discuss creative processes and how art shapes perspectives. The series is co-produced with Slate Studios and available on Apple Podcast, Google Play Music, Stitcher, and the gallery's website. This initiative coincides with the gallery's 25th anniversary celebrations in 2018, which also include the opening of a new gallery designed by Renzo Piano on West 21st Street in Chelsea, New York, scheduled for 2020 at a cost of $50 million. The new space will be Zwirner's sixth gallery, adding to existing locations in Chelsea (19th and 20th Streets), the Upper East Side, London, and a forthcoming space in Hong Kong. David Zwirner stated that the podcast is part of ongoing digital initiatives to engage new audiences and amplify artists' voices.
