David Zwirner launches global livestream event 'Program'
David Zwirner has announced 'Program', a new global livestream event that will virtually bring audiences into his galleries in New York, London, Paris, and Hong Kong. The first edition opens June 10 with a preview on June 9. Program aims to recreate the atmosphere of live exhibitions and art fairs through interactive video discussions and debates with artists and curators, allowing the public to ask questions and participate. Featured artists include Stan Douglas, Yayoi Kusama, Josef Albers, Francis Alÿs, and Joan Mitchell in New York; Kerry James Marshall (debuting a new painting from his 'Black and part Black Birds in America' series) and Chris Ofili in London; Diane Arbus and Oscar Murillo in Paris; and Yayoi Kusama, Wolfgang Tillmans, and Luc Tuymans in Hong Kong. The graphic identity was designed in collaboration with artist Christopher Williams. Zwirner stated that the pandemic revealed the potential of digital platforms, and Program closes the art season with global energy and excitement.
