publication · 2026-04-26

David Zwirner Books, the publishing arm of the David Zwirner gallery founded in 2014 and based in Chelsea, Manhattan, has launched The Artist Journals Collection, a series of blank-page diaries with decorated covers by contemporary artists. Handmade in Italy at the Verona Libri printing house, with which the publisher has collaborated for over a decade, the first volumes debuted in summer 2023 featuring Yayoi Kusama and Ruth Asawa, followed by a Noah Davis edition. A Marcel Dzama journal is available for preorder and will be officially released on April 2. The publishing house produces approximately 25 titles annually, including monographs, exhibition catalogues, historical studies, artist books, interviews, and the children's series How Art Works, in partnership with Simon & Schuster and Thames & Hudson. David Zwirner also supports the New York literary criticism magazine The Drift, founded in 2020 by Kiara Barrow and Rebecca Panovka, which publishes three times a year and hosts launch events at Zwirner's venues.
