David Tremlett's Langhe Murals Become a Tourist Route

The Ente Turismo Langhe Monferrato Roero is developing a new tourism product centered on four mural works by British artist David Tremlett in the Langhe, Roero, and Monferrato regions of Piedmont. The route includes the Cappella del Barolo (created with Sol LeWitt and commissioned by the Ceretto family 21 years ago), the Chiesetta di Coazzolo (commissioned in 2015 by Silvano Stella), the Open Space San Maurizio 1619 at the Gallo family's relais in Santo Stefano Belbo, and the newest addition, a mural titled "Per Le Langhe" at the Oratorio di San Michele in Serravalle Langhe. The project, announced during the inauguration of the Serravalle Langhe work, aims to diversify the area's tourist offerings by leveraging contemporary art and design. Luigi Barbero, President of Ente Turismo Langhe Monferrato Roero, stated that art is a key tourist attractor and that investing in this sector will promote lesser-known areas. Davide Falletto, Mayor of Serravalle Langhe, noted that the route unites the three Langhe sub-regions and results from collaboration among the four artwork owners and the tourism board. The initiative includes mapping existing tourism assets and creating professional cartography for future use.
