David Lynch Foundation Italy Launches 'Heal the Healers Now' for Medical Staff

The David Lynch Foundation Italy, based in Lucca, has launched 'Heal the Healers Now – Curiamoci di chi ci cura', a program aimed at supporting the mental health of Italian doctors and nurses through Transcendental Meditation. The initiative, already active at the Weill Cornell Medical Center – New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York, seeks to address burnout among healthcare workers, a condition highlighted by a Harvard study as prevalent even before the COVID-19 pandemic. Delfina Delettrez Fendi, creative director of her eponymous jewelry brand, has been appointed ambassador and issued an open letter calling for donations to reach a goal of €100,000, which will fund free meditation training for medical personnel. The foundation promotes Transcendental Meditation as a technique that provides deep rest and mental clarity without medication. David Lynch, the filmmaker, describes meditation as unlocking inner happiness, intelligence, creativity, love, energy, and peace.
