David Jonsson Cast as New Black Panther in Third Film

David Jonsson, known for his roles in Industry, The Long Walk, and Rye Lane, has just been announced as the new Black Panther. Director Ryan Coogler revealed this at San Diego Comic-Con, where he also mentioned that the third movie is scheduled for a December 2028 release. Jonsson will take on the role of T'Challa II, the son of Chadwick Boseman’s character, who sadly passed away in 2020. Letitia Wright will return as Shuri, T'Challa's aunt. On Instagram, Jonsson shared that he feels it’s a 'privilege' and 'honour' to step into this role. Fellow actors and fans, including Jodie Turner-Smith and Ncuti Gatwa, celebrated his casting. Jonsson has also made history as the first Black lead in an Agatha Christie adaptation.
