David Haskell Debuts Solo Sculpture Exhibition 'Boom Beach' at Donzella Ltd.

exhibition · 2026-05-26

David Haskell's first solo sculpture exhibition, 'Boom Beach,' opened on April 29 at Donzella Ltd. in the New York Design Center, featuring roughly 40 works in ceramic, bronze, cast glass, and blown glass, all originating from the pottery wheel. The centerpiece is a six-foot bronze humanoid assemblage weighing 320 kilograms, cast at Fonderie Chapon in Paris. Haskell collaborated with Modern Art Foundry in New York for bronze pieces and Berengo Studio in Murano for cast glass. Blown glass works were produced at Brooklyn Glass. The exhibition runs through June 30. Haskell, also an editor, returned to pottery 12 years ago, initially making planters. His practice explores shape, stability, and materiality, with glaze colors enhancing emotional gravity. Gallery founder Paul Donzella notes Haskell's abstraction alludes to the natural world.
