David Diavù Vecchiato on Street Art, MURo, and Urban Neapolis
Born in Rome in 1970, David Diavù Vecchiato is an Italian musician, curator, and artist who has been active since the early 1990s. He has contributed comics to publications such as La Repubblica, Frigidaire, and Linus. His debut group exhibition took place in 1996, followed by a solo exhibition in 2002. Vecchiato's work has been showcased at La Triennale di Milano, Museion, and Madre, with his latest collaboration being Æquus Parthenopensis at the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Naples. He serves as the artistic director of Mondopop and curates the Urban Superstar Show. Since 2010, he has managed MURo, an outdoor street art museum, and teaches at the Istituto Europeo di Design. Recent projects include murals in Naples and at Università Roma Tre, with upcoming works planned for album covers and additional murals.
