David Bowie's Creative Universe Explored at MAMbo Bologna

The exhibition 'David Bowie is' at MAMbo in Bologna, curated by Victoria Broackes and Geoffrey Marsh from the Victoria & Albert Museum, offers an immersive journey into the artist's multifaceted career. Featuring over 300 objects from Bowie's personal archive, the show highlights his impact on music, fashion, design, and contemporary art. Visitors wear headphones to experience synchronized audio with iconic videos, costumes, and handwritten scores. The display includes a striped jumpsuit by Kansai Yamamoto from the 1973 Aladdin Sane tour, Bowie's own portrait of writer Yukio Mishima, and collaborations with artists like Nam June Paik and Tony Oursler. Bowie's fascination with Surrealism and German Expressionism is evident, as is his role as Andy Warhol in the film 'Basquiat'. The exhibition runs until November 13, 2016.
