Darsena Residency #3: VOID and Marco Godinho in Mestre
Galleria Massimodeluca in Mestre launched the third edition of Darsena Residency in early July 2017. Curated by Daniele Capra, the project hosts the Italian-Belgian collective VOID (Arnaud Eeckhout and Mauro Vitturini) and Portuguese artist Marco Godinho throughout July. A concluding exhibition will open in late September, accompanied by a bilingual publication documenting the residency and works. The residency aims to transform the gallery into a living laboratory, leveraging its network of collectors, curators, journalists, and friends. Capra describes the edition as featuring "great environmental interaction with the lagoon context and the hinterland facing Venice, which are still little-explored aspects in contemporary art." The artists' research spans sculpture, sound art, multimedia installation, and conceptual poetry.
