Darren Hawkes designs lush landscape for Cornish eco-cabin resort Koto at the Point
Koto at the Point has been unveiled at The Point in Polzeath, North Cornwall, comprising 17 eco-lodge cabins spread across 11 acres of a 240-acre property. The project, spearheaded by owners Eva and Jeremy Davies, who have overseen The Point since 2012, began during the lockdown in 2020 in partnership with Koto and landscape designer Darren Hawkes. Features of the development include over 400 meters of traditional Cornish walling, a central swale for managing rainwater, and three curving hedges designed to support local wildlife. More than 130 trees have been planted, with plans for ongoing annual additions. The landscape, which includes meadows and gardens, is cared for by Natalie Buse and Tom Collings, while ecologist John Sproull has observed diverse wildlife. The resort is now available for bookings.
