Dario Nanì's 'Altri fiori per camera tua' at Casa Vuota, Rome

exhibition · 2026-04-27

Casa Vuota in Rome presents 'Altri fiori per camera tua', a solo exhibition by Sicilian artist Dario Nanì (born 1993, Ragusa; based in Bologna). Curated by Francesco Paolo Del Re and Sabino de Nichilo, the show explores past relationships, emotional and physical relocations, and the courage to reinvest sentimentally after heartbreak. Nanì originally began painting flowers as a personal challenge to surpass artificial bouquets given to his former partner. The exhibition features drawings and paintings—some hidden in corners or meant to be handled—using a soft palette of pinks, light blues, oranges, emerald greens, pale or fiery yellows. Nanì layers oil and oil pastels to create luminous, stratified surfaces that evoke memory and shadow. The title references the artist's earlier series of flower images made for a loved one. The show runs at Casa Vuota, a project space in Rome, and was reviewed by Giorgia Basili on Artribune in March 2022.
