publication · 2026-04-27

Daria Jorioz, born in Aosta in 1965 and currently leading the Exhibition Structure of the Valle d'Aosta Region, has released a new book titled "Quattro fotografi" (Lyasis Edizioni, Bergamo 2022, 120 pages, €18). The work, inspired by Enrico Peyrot, showcases four prominent photographers: Mario De Biasi, Pepi Merisio, Gian Paolo Barbieri, and André Villers. Additionally, it features writings from exhibitions that included Vittorio Sella, Gabriele Basilico, Olivo Barbieri, Elliott Erwitt, and Robert Doisneau. Jorioz reflects on De Biasi, the first Italian photographer for a magazine (Epoca) recognized for his famous photograph "Gli italiani si voltano." She also shares memories of her interactions with Barbieri and Villers, who presented her with "Bouteilles" in 2008, dedicated to a boy named Tristan.
