Dante Exhibition Opens in Forlì with 300 Works Including Giotto
An extensive exhibition commemorating the 700th anniversary of Dante Alighieri's passing has been launched at the Musei San Domenico in Forlì, Italy. Curated by the Fondazione Cassa dei Risparmi di Forlì and the Gallerie degli Uffizi, it showcases approximately 300 pieces, including four panels by Giotto, medieval manuscripts, Roman sculptures, and various paintings. Designed by Eike Schmidt and Gianfranco Brunelli, the exhibition opens with the theme of the Last Judgment and examines Dante's legacy through the portraits of Andrea del Castagno and Sandro Botticelli. The first floor focuses on the three canticles—Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso—culminating in a room featuring a Trinity by Lorenzo Lotto, alongside a section dedicated to graphic works by Gustav Doré and others.
