Dannielle Tegeder's Chroma Machine Suite at H&R Block Artspace explores translation, collaboration, and community

exhibition · 2026-04-22

From January 27 to March 17, 2018, H&R Block Artspace at the Kansas City Art Institute showcased Dannielle Tegeder's solo exhibition titled Chroma Machine Suite: Forecasting Faultlines in the Cosmos. This exhibition included a large wall installation that involved students and culminated in a collaborative workshop and performance. Tegeder's artistic practice encompasses painting, sound, sculpture, and performance, drawing inspiration from Latin American abstraction and architects such as Lina Bo Bardi. In 2017, her exhibition at Johannes Vogt Gallery featured works by Peter Halley and Barry Schwabsky. Future endeavors include a solo show at NC-Arte in Bogotá and a Percent for Art project in the summer of 2018. A discussion with Sharmistha Ray highlighted her interdisciplinary focus that transcends Eurocentric modernism.
