Danii Pollehn on translating sound into visual art for glo campaign
At OMR 2026 in Hamburg, artist Danii Pollehn discussed her creative process for the new glo campaign 'Feel your glo'. Pollehn, who lives in Lisbon, works by translating sound, melody, and bodily sensations into visual works using a mixed-media practice that combines digital animation with analog elements like paper, collage, and marker. For the campaign, DJ and producer Marten Hørger created a song, the community contributed impressions, and Pollehn transformed these into a visual piece. Pollehn studied fashion design in Hamburg and Berlin, worked as a stylist, designed textile patterns, and exhibited in Paris and New York. She emphasizes intuition, bodily feeling, and incompleteness as creative principles. On stage, she addressed the tension between personal art and commercial commissions, stating that authenticity depends on whether the client can accept an uncontrollable outcome. She advises brands to 'give us the topic, not the solution.' Her work features expressive color palettes (magenta, teal, orange, purple) and motifs of female bodies, botanical forms, and gestures drawn from personal experiences of illness and healing.
