Daniele Sigalot's 'Out Of Place' Opens in a Metalworking Factory on Lake Maggiore

exhibition · 2026-04-27

The WEM Gallery, situated within the MEW ‒ Magistris & Wetzel SpA factory in Ornavasso, opens its doors with 'Out Of Place', a solo exhibition by Daniele Sigalot (born in Rome, 1976), under the curation of Sonia Belfiore. Spanning 1,000 square meters, the show showcases new origami sculptures, the 'Superficial' photographic series, paper planes, aluminum foil mandalas, and 'Master of Mistakes'. A red post-it declares 'Nothing Really Meaningful Here', while neon signs in 'Bipolar Colors' issue warnings to attendees. The exhibition also features 12 laser-engraved steel maps from the 2021 series 'A Portrait of Everyone, Everywhere' and 'Enough', which includes a 1,000-year countdown. Sigalot will perform live in 'Writer's Block', tackling social media challenges, and will also take part in 'Arte in Nuvola' and display the steel maps at Palazzo Valdina in 2023.
