Daniel Templon opens second Paris gallery, bucks trend with local expansion
Daniel Templon, a prominent figure in the French art world, has inaugurated a second contemporary art gallery in Paris at 28 rue du Grenier Saint Lazare, situated close to the Centre Pompidou. This 750-square-meter space, redesigned by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, stands out from the global expansion trends of other galleries. Templon remarked that Paris is reclaiming its status in the international market, necessitating additional space and personnel. Established in 1966, the gallery has showcased significant artists since the 1970s, including Martin Barré and Andy Warhol. Templon also co-founded Art Press in 1972 and operates a location in Brussels. The opening features Jan Fabre's exhibition "Sexual Belgian Folklore and Sexual Belgian North Sea" from May 18 to July 21, 2018.
