Daniel Hope Takes Helm of Menuhin Festival Gstaad for 70th Edition

The Menuhin Festival Gstaad, founded in 1957 by legendary violinist, pedagogue, and conductor Yehudi Menuhin in the Swiss Alps, is currently underway for its 70th edition. This year, Daniel Hope, one of Menuhin's students and spiritual heirs, has assumed the role of artistic director, aiming to perpetuate the legacy of the celebrated musician and humanist. Hope, born in South Africa, is a multilingual citizen of the world, fluent in four languages. Beyond directing the festival, he is actively involved in masterclasses, meetings, and performances. He will perform concerts on August 15 and 30 as part of the 'Menuhin's Legacy' series. The festival runs until September 5, 2026. Hope's appointment marks a significant moment in the festival's history, bridging the past and future of classical music.
