Daniel Arsham Designs Limited Edition Hot Wheels for Mattel Creations
Daniel Arsham, a New York-based artist known for blending sculpture, design, and performance, has concluded a two-year collaboration with Mattel Creations, the American toy company founded in 1945. The partnership produced eight limited-edition Hot Wheels models in 1:64 scale, including iconic cars like the Porsche 930 Turbo and Rodger Dodger. The collection, titled Laps, debuted at a public event on Grand Street in New York last October and is now available on the Mattel Creations website. Ted Wu, Vice President and Global Head of Vehicle Design at Mattel Creations, stated that the collaboration brings together two legends—Hot Wheels and Daniel Arsham—to blur the lines between toys and art. The collection also includes limited-edition accessories such as keychains, stickers, and prints. Arsham, represented by Galerie Perrotin and exhibited at MoMA PS1, has previously collaborated with luxury brands like Tiffany.
