Dancity Festival in Foligno Opens Art Section with Open Call

The Dancity Festival, an electronic music and digital arts festival in Foligno, Umbria, returns for its eleventh edition from June 30 to July 2, 2017. This year, the festival has established an autonomous Visual Arts Section, curated by Marta Silvi and Carla Capodimonti, to strengthen the dialogue between electronic music and contemporary visual arts. An open call invites artists under 40 to submit projects on the theme of "Control Reversal," exploring adaptation to sudden changes through alternative solutions. The deadline is May 29, 2017. A jury comprising Paola Capata (Galleria Monitor, Rome), Carla Capodimonti, Simone Ciglia, Teresa Macrì, Pier Luigi Metelli, Santa Nastro, and Marta Silvi will select a winner. The winner will receive an exhibition opportunity at AlbumArte, a non-profit space in Rome, during the 2018 season. The festival features a dense program of concerts, DJ sets, and audio-visual performances across the city's historic squares and buildings.
