Dance piece explores Lee Krasner's life and relationship with Jackson Pollock
Choreographer Antonia Franceschi, known for her role in the film Fame and as a former dancer with George Balanchine's New York City Ballet, presents a dance evening titled Uncaged+ at The Mount Without in Bristol. The program includes Excerpts from Kinderszenen, a neo-Balanchine piece, and Prophecy, a dance-theatre work-in-progress about artist Lee Krasner and her relationship with Jackson Pollock. Prophecy was created with writer and director Sara Joyce, with music by Claire van Kampen, and features a solo by Edward Watson. Franceschi is artistic director of New York Theatre Ballet. The work highlights Krasner's artistic identity beyond her marriage to Pollock.
