Dance meets contemporary art in Italian museum collaborations

The Centro Coreografico Nazionale / Aterballetto and Collezione Maramotti have launched Touchpoint, a collaboration where sixteen dancers from Aterballetto created videos interacting with artworks from the Maramotti collection. Each dancer was paired with a specific piece, including works by Henri Moore, Tony Cragg, Claudio Parmiggiani, Kiki Smith, and others. Fifteen videos are viewable at the Collezione Maramotti in Reggio Emilia, and one at the Max Mara flagship store in Milan. Separately, LUX FEMINAE – Donne e Madonne at the Pinacoteca Nazionale di Siena runs until October 26, 2024, featuring female dancers in dialogue with paintings of women. Upcoming events include a roundtable on October 17, a performance on October 18, and a closing show on October 25. At PAC in Milan, a dance night on October 19, part of the RI-SCATTI photography exhibition on HIV/AIDS, will feature DJs Nicky Siano and Hiroko Hacci.
