Danae Myth Reimagined in Treviso Group Exhibition
The Fondazione Francesco Fabbri in Treviso presents a group exhibition inspired by the myth of Danae, featuring Antonio Bellucci's painting alongside contemporary works. Artists including Marta Spagnoli, Giulio Saverio Rossi, Nebojša Despotović, Barbara De Vivi, Nicola Samorì, Zehra Doğan, Christian Fogarolli, and Giuseppe Gonella explore themes of violence, consent, and the female body. Zehra Doğan, a Kurdish artist arrested in 2016 for dissent against Erdoğan's regime, presents a diptych of Danae as two women united in shared pain. Christian Fogarolli displays brain tissue images on mirrored surfaces, suggesting biological proximity. Giuseppe Gonella contrasts a public and private Danae, reclaiming freedom from stereotypes. The exhibition runs at Villa Brandolini in Pieve di Soligo.
