Danae Festival 2016: Focus on Italian Choreography and Multidisciplinary Performances

The Danae Festival in Milan, running from October 2016, prioritizes new languages and authorial dance, with a strong focus on Italian choreography and emerging artists like Annamaria Ajmone, Silvia Gribaudi, and Daniele Ninarello. Ajmone's performance 'Slide in B' at Showroom BONOTTOEDITIONS, featuring artist Caned Icona, draws from Luigi Bonotto's Fluxus and Concrete Poetry archive. International presence includes Catalan choreographer Vero Cendoya with 'La Partida,' a humorous football match. The festival also features ZimmerFrei's participatory documentary theater project 'Family Affair,' produced by the European network Open Latitudes, exploring contemporary family dynamics through siblinghood in Milan. The collective will occupy TeatroLaCucina for fifteen days, working with seven selected families. Additionally, the festival includes a December coda dedicated to Teatro delle Moire, presenting 'Vous êtes pleine de désespoir – Una sirena,' developed with artist Alessandro Bedosti. Officina LachesiLAB, founded in 1997 and opened in 2008, hosts residencies for young artists like Filippo M. Ceredi and Lorenzo Piccolo, with mentorship from Daria Deflorian. The festival is described as 'unscrupulous and transversal,' aiming to offer alternative trajectories and experimental opportunities in Milan's rich but conventional cultural scene.
