Damien Hirst's 'Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable' Comes to Sky Arte HD

exhibition · 2026-05-05

Damien Hirst's monumental exhibition 'Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable' will be broadcast on Sky Arte HD on June 7 at 20:45. The show, which opened in Venice on April 9, 2017, occupies 5,000 square meters across both Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana—the first time the Pinault Collection has dedicated both venues to a single artist. The exhibition presents fictional archaeological artifacts from the wreck of the 'Unbelievable,' an ancient ship that supposedly carried the collection of Aulus Calidius Amotan (Cif Amotan II) to a legendary sun temple. Hirst, who had been seemingly inactive for a decade, returns with a provocative blend of reality and fiction. The TV special, part of the ArtBox magazine curated by Didi Gnocchi and produced by 3D Produzioni, will feature the exhibition curated by Elena Geuna.
