Damián Ortega's first South American survey opens at MASP
The Museu de Arte de São Paulo will host "Damián Ortega: Matter and Energy" from May 15 to September 13, 2025. This marks the first significant exhibition of the acclaimed Mexican artist in South America, featuring 35 diverse works that include photography, video, sculpture, and installations, reflecting three decades of his career. The show is curated by Adriano Pedrosa, Rodrigo Moura, and Yudi Rafael, delving into themes of labor, consumption, time, and language. Following its São Paulo run, the exhibit will travel to Santiago, Chile, where it will be on view at Centro Cultural La Moneda from November 12, 2026, to March 28, 2027.
