DAMA: New Turin Art Fair in a Historic Palazzo

A new contemporary art fair called DAMA launches in Turin from November 3-6, 2016, at Palazzo Saluzzo Paesana. Organized by galleries for galleries, it rejects the conventional fair model in favor of a shared gallery concept set in a historic palace. The initiative responds to the saturation of the traditional fair system, where booths have become more important than exhibitions. The fair's founder, Marco Enrico Giacomelli, criticizes the proliferation of fairs and the financial pressures on galleries, advocating for tax incentives for those who promote Italian artists abroad and a distinction between cultural promoters and pure commercial entities. The event includes a preview on November 2 from 6-10 PM.
