Dama in Turin launches non-profit section for independent spaces

The independent art project Dama, founded in 2016 by emerging galleries in Turin, returns from November 1 to 5 at Palazzo Saluzzo Paesana. This second edition introduces a new non-profit section dedicated to independent spaces, selected by founder Giorgio Galotti of gallery GRGLT. The section features Meyohas from New York and Pina from Vienna, presenting solo shows by Virginia Lee Montgomery and Sasha Auerbakh. The international gallery count remains at twelve by curatorial choice. Dama also launches the GUEST support system, developed with the Museo Ettore Fico, covering the full participation fee for one gallery; this year benefiting Lily Robert of Paris, showcasing Jonas Wijtenburg. The live programme, curated by João Laia, includes artists Sam Smith, Anna Franceschini, Diogo Evangelista, Sasha Litvintseva, Laure Prouvost, and Guan Xiao, funded by Compagnia di Sanpaolo. Galotti emphasizes that Dama focuses on collaboration, dialogue, and supporting artists and galleries without charging entry fees, thanks to institutional backing.
