Dalìland Film Reveals Hidden Sides of Salvador Dalí
Directed by Mary Harron (I Shot Andy Warhol, American Psycho), the film Dalìland stars Ben Kingsley as Salvador Dalí and focuses on the final years of his marriage to Gala (Barbara Sukowa). Set in New York and Spain in 1974, the story is told through the eyes of James (Christopher Briney), a young assistant helping the eccentric artist prepare for a major gallery exhibition. The cast also includes Rupert Graves, Suki Waterhouse, Andreja Pejic, and Ezra Miller. The film explores not only Dalí's extravagant parties and his unique relationship with Gala but also the pressures of the art world and his struggle to maintain his reputation. A notable line from the trailer: "Sometimes it's hard to be Dalí." The movie will be released in Italian cinemas on May 25 by Plaion Pictures and on demand from June 9.
