Dakota Mace has been honored with the 2023 Ellsworth Kelly Award by the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, which includes a $45,000 grant for her upcoming solo exhibition. Residing in Madison, Wisconsin, Mace delves into her Diné (Navajo) heritage through various mediums such as beadwork, papermaking, photography, and weaving. Her exhibition titled "Dahodiyinii – Sacred Places" is set to debut at SITE Santa Fe in March 2025 and will showcase over 2,000 chemigrams and photographic prints utilizing crimson cochineal dye, along with video, audio, and performance elements.
