Dakar Biennale 2026 Calls for African and Diaspora Artists on Theme of (Anti)fragility

The 16th Dakar Biennale has opened applications for its international exhibition, set to take place in Dakar from November 19 to December 19, 2026. Artists can submit their works between April 15 and June 15, 2026. This year's theme is "(Anti)fragility," welcoming contributions from artists throughout Africa and its global diasporas, including those from island and archipelagic regions. Acceptable art forms encompass architecture, digital arts, design, installation, mixed media, painting, performance, photography, sculpture, sound, street art/graffiti, and video art with animation. Organized by the General Secretariat of the Biennale of Contemporary African Art, the call aims to explore concepts of coexistence, mutual support, and harmonious living with the broader ecosystem.
