Daisy Dodd-Noble Returns to a Wiltshire Water Meadow for 18 Months of Paintings at MASSIMODECARLO

Daisy Dodd-Noble's showcase, 'The Land is Speaking,' will be on display at MASSIMODECARLO in London from 25 June to 21 August 2026. Over a span of eighteen months, the artist created paintings during numerous visits to a specific water meadow in a Wiltshire garden, working through the cycles of winter, spring, summer, and back to winter to depict the site through different seasons. Dodd-Noble expresses a growing belief that the land may possess a form of awareness, suggesting a connection with the spirit of a tree. The artworks feature gardens, meadows, and farmland, situated between wildness and cultivation, influenced by regenerative farming and ecological restoration. While not advocating for animism, the paintings invite contemplation on the land's potential to communicate. The exhibition also showcases a view of a hedgerow and light filtering through a naturally thickening copse, highlighting Dodd-Noble's process as a dialogue with the landscape, where repeated observation shifts perception, making the meadow appear to converse.
