Daido Moriyama's Meditations on Photography at Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson

An exhibition showcasing Daido Moriyama's photography is currently on display at the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson in Paris. It highlights projections from his book "Shashin yo sayonara" (Adieu Photographie) and includes a dialogue with Takuma Nakahira dating back to August 2, 1971. The exhibition is organized into four segments, starting with printed forms and delving into Moriyama's fascination with Nicéphore Niépce's "Point de vue du Gras" (1826-1827). Featured are unpublished works such as a reproduction of Niépce's piece, an installation of 36 photographs from 2011 to 2017, and a publication from a 2008 Japan Airlines commission. Curated by Clément Chéroux, it also presents self-portraits, lab photographs, and writings, including "Inu no kioku" (Memories of a Stray Dog, 1984), alongside a companion book titled "Daido Do Moriyama. Lettres d'amour à la photographie" (Delpire & Co).
