Dahaleez Collective Wins 2025 OTO Award x Dar Jacir Palestinian Art Prize for Sonic Archive Project

award · 2026-04-22

The Dahaleez Collective from Gaza has won the 2025 OTO Award x Dar Jacir Palestinian Art Prize, the first-ever award aimed at sound and listening in Palestinian art. This annual prize is designed to spotlight innovative sound art that shares Palestinian stories with a wider audience. A selection committee, including Emily Jacir, Nicolas Jaar, Dirar Kalash, and the OTO Sound Museum founders, picked the collective via an open call. Their project aims to create an archive centered on themes of memory and erasure. The winners receive 2000 Swiss Francs (approximately USD 2500), a digital exhibition at the OTO Sound Museum, mentorship, and residency opportunities at Dar Jacir, plus support for Gaza artists through the Hassala project.
