Dadamaino's Retrospective at A arte Invernizzi in Milan

A arte Invernizzi in Milan presents 'Dadamaino. Dare tempo allo spazio', a solo exhibition of the late Italian artist Eduarda Emilia Maino, known as Dadamaino. The show spans her career from the 1950s to the 1990s, featuring key series such as 'Volumi' (1958-60), 'L'inconscio razionale' (1970s), 'Costellazioni' and 'I fatti della vita' (1980s), and 'Sein und Zeit' and 'Il movimento delle cose' (1990s). New additions include three polyester works, 'Passo dopo passo' (1989), two 'Cromorilievi' (1974), and modular acrylics 'La ricerca sul colore' (1967). The exhibition's title references Heidegger's unfinished book 'Sein und Zeit', which Dadamaino used for her late works. Her artistic journey began in the 1950s after seeing Lucio Fontana's work from a tram, inspiring her to perforate canvases. She was part of Milan's avant-garde, frequenting Bar Giamaica and joining Azimuth in 1959 with Piero Manzoni and Enrico Castellani. Her kinetic research led to 'Oggetto ottico-dinamico' (1962) in aluminum on wood, created after contact with Gruppo T and Gruppo N. The exhibition is accompanied by a catalog by Bruno Corà. Dadamaino, born in 1930 or 1935 (she reportedly changed the date), died in 2004.
