Daan Roosegaarde's eco-friendly fireworks Spark to debut in Bilbao
Dutch artist Daan Roosegaarde has designed Spark, a new generation of fireworks made from biodegradable materials that create a cloud of luminous particles without harming the environment. Inspired by fireflies, bird flocks, and star galaxies, the silent spectacle uses thousands of light sparks moved by the wind. Spark will debut in Bilbao, Spain, from June 1 to 3, hosted by the sky of the city in collaboration with Studio Roosegaarde, The Wellbeing Summit, and Draiflessen Collection. The performance, measuring 50x30x50 meters, will take place during The Wellbeing Summit for Social Change. Roosegaarde describes Spark Bilbao as an opportunity for wonder and reflection, offering a sustainable alternative for celebrations. The artist is known for previous light and environment performances such as Grow and Seeing Stars.
