D.C.C.A. Interview: Pushing the Limits at Galleria de' Foscherari, Bologna

exhibition · 2026-04-26

In an interview with Artribune, the DebatikCenter of Contemporary Art (D.C.C.A.), established over two decades ago by Armando Lulaj, Ergin Zaloshnja, and Salvator Qitaj, is highlighted alongside the non-exhibition "Pushing the Limits," curated by Fabiola Naldi at Galleria de' Foscherari in Bologna. The D.C.C.A. was founded in response to the intersection of art and politics in post-socialist Albania and relocated to Tirana in 2003. Jonida Gashi and Pleurad Xhafa, members of the center, reflect on the repercussions of Albania's economic collapse in 1997 and Edi Rama's government that began in 2013. The non-exhibition features films, photographs, and installations, positioning themselves as "cultural agitators." Claudio Musso conducted the interview.
