D'Annunzio's Vittoriale partners with Gardaland theme park
Giordano Bruno Guerri, head of the Fondazione Vittoriale degli Italiani since 2008, has increased visitors from 156,000 to 230,000 through cultural initiatives. The foundation plans a 2018 collaboration with Gardaland theme park to exhibit D'Annunzio's personal effects, including 25 pairs of shoes. Guerri aims to rebrand D'Annunzio from a protofascist decadent to a libertarian modernizer. A June 2017 exhibition on D'Annunzio's perfumes, sponsored by Vidal, is also planned. The Vittoriale targets 250,000 tickets in 2017.
