Czech President Petr Pavel Photographs F1 Race in Budapest

Czech President Petr Pavel attended the Formula 1 race in Budapest, Hungary, over the weekend, not as a spectator but as a photographer. Wearing a photographer's jacket, he captured images trackside just feet from the cars. Pavel was accompanied by Czech photographer Jiri Krenek and chatted with FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem in the pit lane. Reddit users noted he used both Canon and Nikon cameras. This is not Pavel's first motorsports photography outing; he previously photographed the MotoGP race in Brno, Czechia, and the Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia, where he camped like a regular spectator. His Dakar photos were exhibited at the National Technical Museum in Prague in March 2025. Pavel has not shared his F1 photos on Instagram, suggesting he shoots for personal enjoyment.
